Appearing In

At the Fair

  1. We're offering free valet bicycle parking to encourage people to ride their bikes.
  2. Next to bicycle valet, we're offering a fun on-bike skills course for kids.
  3. In our booth, we're offering personalized bicycle route concierge service all day. Tell us what kind of ride you'd like to experience, and we'll provide a route.
  4. Each hour, on the half hour, we'll provide a 15 minute talk about how/why to work with us to start a monthly, community-based, for-fun bike ride in your community.

Transportation & Recreation

The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition promotes bicycling for transportation and recreation and works to educate the community about bicycle safety and the benefits of cycling, including good health and protecting the environment.

SCBC serves as the voice of transportation and recreational cyclists of Sonoma County. We represent interests ranging from employees riding to work, students riding to school, residents running errands and attending events, recreational cyclists out for exercise and fun, and bike tourists enjoying the pleasures of Sonoma County. We work with city and county bicycle advisory committees to coordinate the county bicycle plans into an integrated regional network and help identify missing links in the County's bicycle transportation network that prevent the safe and efficient use of bicycles, and propose corrective designs.

Upcoming Events

a. Working with a broad-based coalition to make the SMART Rail & Trail a reality b. Launching -- with you! -- an ongoing, Countywide series of community-based bike rides -- imagine people all over the County riding monthly on the same day at the same time in their own communities!c. Hosting activities/events throughout the County to celebrate National Bike Month (May), including Bike to Work Day (May 10th, 2012)
